Hello, readers

What's your favourite song of the year so far, then?

(NB. Because of a couple of recent spam attacks comments are currently on moderation, which for a post aimed at fostering low scale community spirit through interactivity is a bit of a bind, but there you go)

Most of what i can think of off the top of my head actually came out last year (i'm specifically thinking 'Pink Sabbath' here) so i guess it's 'Inaugral Trams'. i have a soft spot for 'Now I Wanna Be Deleted' by Zea at the moment though. This wasn't a very succinct answer was it.

Outskirts of Town by Pocketbooks, but Contender by Pains of Being Pure at Heart is running it close at the moment.

I know it's not out yet, but Stop Start Synchro or however we're supposed to punctuate it. Not an adventurous choice by any stretch of the imagination but it's wormed its way into my brain these last few weeks like nothing else has for ages.

Pains of Being Pure At Heart - Come Saturday. Saw them the other night. Very tight and a delight to watch.

St. Vincent - Marrow. Deliciously fuzzy-edged synth riff makes it a treat.

Another vote for the Pains of Being Pure at Heart from me, but Whoa Billy by Lucky Soul, Carve a Pattern by Butcher Boy and even The Fear from Lilty Allen are right up there.

i know this is my third entry but 'Beautiful But Boring' by Dimbleby and Capper is doing well in my books, could also be a contender. Also, does something off the Pagan Wanderer Lu album count, seeing as most of those songs have been around for a while?

Emmy the Great - "First Love"

If we count singles released from last years' albums then Hello Saferide's "Arjeplog"
