...we want to copy you into it, and it's in no way ripped off from The Word's Songs You Have To Hear feature.
What will happen is every day throughout November we'll be featuring a different contributor writing about a single track that may have been overlooked from the top pantheon of pop craft but should be lauded all the same. So, picking a song that isn't Bohemian Rhapsody and telling our readers in just enough detail why it's so great, and we'll chuck in an mp3 to back your words up.
You've probably guessed the next bit.
So, interested? Let us know any time between now and November if you're keen on taking part via emailing us or if you're shy of your mail identity by messaging us on Myspace. Owners of really good blogs or with writing reputations will be of a higher priority than people who can only type in Caps Locked text speak, although this offer is essentially open to anyone. (Especially if you're quite famous, as then we've got ourselves a selling point.) All we need is 29 of you (well, we're going to have to do one, but there's no way we're adopting psuedonyms and writing up fifteen if it all goes belly-up) to sign up, but we should caution that our wiles mean it won't necessarily be the first 29. You don't need to write it straight off the bat, although that'd help, just as long as you're confident you'd be able to in time. Otherwise, you can hopefully be able to pop by every day in the eleventh month and share in top quality informative music writing. Which would make a change here.
