Sod it, let's start covering Christmas songs. Golden Fable complete an understatedly fine year with a song that conjures up British pastoralism covered in two inches of snow, allowing Rebecca Palin's crystal falsetto to shine over acoustic picking.
On the other hand Free Swim's, as you'd imagine, is a bit odd, starting with Silent Night before cutting abruptly into US FM radio hard rock riffs and an amusingly high class strident spoken word part of the Matt Berry school which references Lynx Africa, Le Creuset and the Channel 4 Alternative Christmas Message.
