Oh, there's been loads of self-referential songs in pop history (go and look up Bo Diddley's back catalogue, for a start), but we were thinking of songs where one member's name is in the title.
What about The Fall?
And i'm pretty sure there's a Charlatans album track with a band member's name in too.
'Rob's Theme' is probably the Charlatans one you had in mind.
Also, after another minute or two's thought, what about 'Dick's Slow Song' (Tindersticks) or 'Bonehead's Bank Holiday' (Oasis)? And does 'Montrose Gimps It Up For Charity' count?
